Sanders
The CEDE model shop is equipped with a Wilton belt and disk
sander. This includes a 6” belt and a 12” disk sander. Both
sanders are designed to rough sand a piece of material. The belt
sander is a continuous piece of heavy sandpaper that runs along a
vertical track. The disk sander is simply a round piece of heavy
sandpaper that spins in a circular motion. The motions of the belt
are critical in proper operation of the equipment. If properly
used, the sander machine may be used freehand.
